Let batter rest for 10 minutes.<br /><br />HEATING: While batter is resting heat oil to 350 to 375° F. Fry the<br />doughnuts in 3-4 inches of oil*, either a counter-top deep fryer, frying pan<br />or large pot on stove.<br />*For best results fry in Vegetable Shortening, Canola, Soy, Peanut, or<br />Safflower Oil.<br /><br />DOUGHNUT MAKING: Keep the doughnut depositor closed by holding it<br />firmly on counter while using a spoon to fill depositor with batter being<br />careful batter doesn't leak out of the bottom.<br />Holding the depositor by the finger loops at the top with your first and<br />second fingers and your thumb on the plunger, position depositor 2-3” above<br />the hot oil, being careful not to touch the oil with the depositor. CAUTION:<br />Hot oil can burn you. Depress the plunger with your thumb for 5-10<br />seconds until a small amount of batter extrudes from the depositor<br />and gathers at the bottom. Lift your thumb to close the depositor and the<br />batter will drop into the oil in a ring shape. If your batter is too thick,<br />pumping your thumb to assist in the batter extrusion my be<br />helpful. Deposit several doughnuts 1-2” apart.<br />Cook doughnuts for approximately 1 minute on each side or until<br />golden brown. Use a chopstick, fork, or spatula to flip the<br />donuts. Once the doughnuts cook on each side, remove from oil and<br />place on a layer of paper towel or cooling rack to cool.<br /><br />SUGARING:<br />Coat warm doughnuts with the Doughnuttery Doughnut Sugars.
