1 oz Jamaican Dandelion. Also known as "Piss a bed" is not the same as the Dandelion used in the US, though they have similar medicinal uses. It earned its nickname for being a long-time remedy for bedwetting in children and the elderly. Main Actions: (in order): antimicrobial, antihepatotoxic (liver detoxifier), hepatotonic (tones, balances, strengthens the liver), antiparasitic, immune stimulant. Properties/Actions documented by research: Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, antihepatotoxic (Liver detoxifier), antimalarial, antimutagenic (Cellular protector), antioxidant, antiparasitic, antispasmodic, aperient (Mild laxative), hepatoprotective (Liver protector), hepatotonic (Tones, balances, strengthens the liver), hypotensive (Lowers blood pressure), immune stimulant, insecticidal, muscle relaxant, weak uterine stimulant, vasoconstrictor. Cautions: Do not use while pregnant. May speed the clearance of some drugs in the liver (Thereby reducing their effect). It is mildly hypotensive (Lowers blood pressure). Preparation: One small handful to 2 cups of water. After boiling the water add the herb and allow it to steep at least 20 minutes before drinking.
